veryone seems to "know" what Christianity is, but few can agree about how to live it. It's easy if you follow the original model, Jesus; it's easy to get off base if you take your focus off of Him. Much of what people think is Christianity is really religion. There is a difference. If you are not sure what the differences are, I suggest you read my article True Verses False Christianity, and then return to these pages to learn how to live a healthy and productive Christian Life.
adly, many Christians, whether gay or straight, never grow up beyond spiritual infancy to be mature men and women of God. Accepting Christ's Love is like letting Him come live with you in your home. Jesus isn't satisfied with just living with you; He wants the two of you to work together, to make your house a home. Letting Jesus have the freedom to rearrange or even throw away some of your "furniture" or "clean out your closets" is "Sanctification." Ephesians 4:14; I Thess. 3:12; Hebrews 5:12; I Peter 2:1-3; II Peter 1:5-10.
Sanctification means being "set apart to." In Christ, you are now set apart from the old person you were and ways of thinking, to a new person and ways of thinking, a new world. Your old person is to be considered now dead and you alive to your new person in Christ. To be set apart means you may have to make some changes, internal and external, to grow and mature, find inner and lasting peace and joy. Psalm 4:3-5; Romans 6:11-13; 8:14-17; 12:9-10.
Often, it may appear you are at war within yourself, tempted to return to the old ways of life. If you try to live up to the standards you believe a Gay Christian should live by, you will fail miserably. To grow, you do not strive but abide, abide in Christ and His Love, and have a life filled with prayer, fellowship, and the reading, study and meditation of God's Word, the Scriptures (a Love Letter from your Parent to you, God's Child). John 15:4-7, 10; Romans 7:15-25; 8:1-2; I John 3:6.
